DIXON PLACE and THAT OLD HILLSIDE present
INTERSTATE
by AMINA HENRY
directed by CAT MILLER
Spurred into action by a suicide attempt, Red packs her adult children into her rusted convertible and heads across the country on a pseudo-nostalgic trip to the Grand Canyon (something she regrets not having done when they were young). Between visits to ex-boyfriends, stops at local attractions, and family guessing games, accusations are leveled, secrets are revealed, and seeds of hope discovered.
A play about what it means to be a family, what it means to be a woman, and what it means to be an American, INTERSTATE is a funny, dark and compassionate look at a family trying to figure out how to hold onto one another while setting themselves free.
